One of our boy's favorite thing to listen to is Adventures in Odyssey, a "Focus on the Family" production. It is a series of stories that happen in a place called Odyssey. Well... I feel sure that one day Jerod, our writer, will have a book about all of the adventures of our life here in Mexico. Today was one of those days I am sure he will write about!

Let me give you some history. About 2 months ago, one of our new believers came to us with a VERY nice camera. He asked us if we could teach him how to use it. We asked him where he got the camera and he explained that he found it near a farm where a car had been "ditched." He said he left it there for 2 days and when he went back it was still there, so he took it. I looked at the camera and saw a name written on the case and a business card in the case and said, this is the name and address of the owner. I told him I would look on the internet to see if anything came up. I found out that the owner was a famous photographer in the U.S. and in Mexico. Greg and I both encouraged him to return it to the rightful owner. Well..... 2 months later, this camera had caused many fights in the family and he really wanted to sell it. (He could have made a ton of money)However, at our cookout( I must say, this cookout was a REALLY awesome day for us!!)we talked more about the camera and I told him that even though nobody knew it wasn't his to sell, God knew. He hung his head and said, "Will you take it to the owner for me?" To which we said, "YES!!"

So today we drove a little more than an hour away to the owner's home. We returned the camera and the response we received was, " There aren't people like that in Mexico!" Well... there are now! They were so happy and now this photographer has a way to continue to do what he does best...take pictures!
Sorry, this is so long! We returned home and called the man over to our home and gave him the reward of about a $80. He grinned from ear to ear and said, that is a week and a half's pay! He said, I am so glad I did this, I feel so much better! It was a huge lesson for him to learn and we are so happy that he did the right thing! Cool huh?

Please keep praying for Greg's father, Boyce. He is doing much better fighting his pancreatitis. Tomorrow they plan on starting him on a liquid diet. He is excited about that since he hasn't had anything to eat or drink since Sunday. Please pray that he will be able to catch up on his work. I mentioned that he is an accountant and during this time of year he is swamped! So, once he gets to feeling "normal" again he will have an enormous amount of work waiting for him. Pray he doesn't over do it! Thanks for joining us on our journey here in Mexico! It can be quite an adventure some days! Love to all! Missy

The pictures I posted are from our trip today. I don't know if you can see the flag at the top of the tree, but it looked really cool in person. Don't know if it showed up as good as a picture!
