We are immortal...for now!

Hi friends! It is always fun to get you up to date on all that is going on in our lives. I have put most of this on Facebook, but I thought I needed to update all of you on here as well. The last 6 weeks of our lives were spent at this place.  (Rock Hill Radiation) They were efficient and so good at what they do. Our appointment was at 9:15 and we were always home by 9:45. It was great! I say, "we" because ever since Greg's diagnosis he has been unable to drive because they are afraid he may one day have a seizure. So for safety sake, I always drive. We are very thankful that this part of his treatment is over. Although, we did enjoy getting to know some really precious people while we were there. Please pray for his MRI on March 7th. We are expecting wonderful results!

I must confess that it is sometimes hard not to think about death when you are surrounded by cancer. But on the other hand, we think about life all the time as well. I recently read a devotional by John Piper that gave me the most peace I have had to this point. I pray it will give you peace as well.
It basically talked about how in Acts 23 there was a plot to kill Paul. However, due to many circumstances the plot to kill him was thwarted. All because God wasn't finished with him yet. So it didn't really matter what anyone did to Paul, God wasn't done with him so he was immortal until God was finished with him. So, it doesn't really matter what any diagnosis says, or how bad news may seem to you, if God isn't finished with you, you are immortal. Who really wants to be on earth if God is done using you here anyway, right?

In my last post I mentioned my friend, Vicki. We got to know each other very well over the past 6 weeks and she had a lot of questions about our faith. On her last day there, we prayed together and she gave her whole heart to Jesus. She is precious and has  a true glow that is contagious now!

Greg's last day of radiation.

These were 3 of our friends, Ann, Frank, and Lanny. Please pray for Frank and Lanny as they fight their cancer.

This was Greg's radiologist, Dr. McAmmon. We loved him!

This is Vicki's sister, Linda. She got to ring the bell after finishing her last treatment too.

Please keep praying for Linda.

We celebrated one weekend by visiting old friends in Wake Forest. My precious friend, Jennifer, gave me a free massage. I have to say, those are a true blessing!

We got to visit with some of our neighbors, but there were so many we didn't get to see. We hope to return again soon and see the rest.

Our homeschool friends.

Annie's friends from church.

Jerod came to Wake Forest that weekend too, it was great seeing him again. It is a blessing being close to him.

Greg and Alex enjoyed watching Peyton win the Superbowl.

We had fun walking and playing in a tiny bit of snow!

I have grown more thankful for my sweet dog every day. He is so sweet!

He loves to kiss my face!

We had a great time visiting old M friends! Mikayla played some amazing basketball!

I love him more every minute of every day. Have you ever just looked at your spouse and thanked God for how blessed you are for their presence in your life? You should!

Annie and Max have become very close too!

Alex continues to make us all laugh at how carefree he is about everything! Love him!

Hug your kids, hug your spouse, don't argue over stupid things, in the big scheme of things, they just don't matter! Go eat your favorite ice cream and really taste it, it will be memorable! Enjoy life, it is just too short to waste it!
