"When will I be healthy Mommy?"

"When will I be healthy?" That is Annie's biggest question right now. She had a great day playing at the park and even going down the slide without any pain! Now, many of you might not think that is a miracle, but to me, knowing she couldn't even walk 3 weeks ago, it really is! She is such a little trooper and tries not to complain about anything. She is stared at because she is American, and now she is stared at even more as people try to figure out why she is wearing this suit. I think in a way it is a blessing because she is used to being different here, so she doesn't really notice them staring. These two pictures were taken today at the park. One is of her on the slide and the other is of Annie with her friend, Paqito.

Yesterday our bath went well and I thought today's bath would go well too. However it didn't go as well. She was back to crying tonight. I find myself wondering when will this all be over. Then I think of all of the precious mamas at Shriners Hospital praying over their children who were far worse than Annie. I find myself praying for them as I know they have a lot longer road ahead of them than we do ahead of us. Many of you have said, "Thank you" to me for writing these posts. This is my way of dealing with all that has happened, my way of journaling and journeying through all that has happened. I thank you for taking the time to write us and to pray for Annie and for our family and just for taking the time to read how she is doing. It really does mean a lot!

  1. I remember as a young teenager, I went to the Shriners hospital in Greenville SC with my GA group. We would read stories and sing for the children. Even now, almost 50 years later, I remember the smiles and tears we saw there. Yes. There is a lot of pain there...but there is a lot of hope also. God is taking care of Annie. And He is taking care of Annie's Mother. And your brothers and sisters in Christ are doing what we are suppose to do...in agreement, we pray.

    Love you,

Isn't God Awesome that He gave Annie that gorgeous red hair, beautiful blue eyes and her fair skin , maybe for such as this that she would be seen as different so that others could see Jesus in her?

  6. Missy,
I share the same sentiment as a previous blogger; STILL here, STILL praying and STILL praising God in the work and blessings He is doing in your lives! I look at the joy on Annie's face in these pics...please remember that joy when she is expressing tears and fear...God is with her (and you) in those times. Do you believe it is only THREE days until we get to see you all?!!! I know The Bridge is there loving and caring for the entire team and ... yes, we're a little jealous! HA

I hope you and Annie get to spend some time with my Lynsey when we are there so you can see how God is glorified thorugh these trials ... years later. I remember what Lyn went through and see how God is using her and I have NO doubt that God will use Annie's story for decades to come.

I am going to finish packing, maybe that will make us get there all the sooner!
    Love you all!

  8. I have been so tremendously blessed by reading what God has been doing in Annie's life and by praying for her and for your family. I can see that God is showing Himself strong in your weakness. May His gentle hand continue His work of healing and may He continue to proclaim His greatness through Annie.

  9. Mis,
Seeing that picture of Annie coming down the slide, that big smile on her face, and knowing it was only three weeks ago, is in itself a miracle. Trust the bath tomorrow will be like the day before. Just remember the smiles, and good times she has had in recent days. Get Greg to do something funny to take on mind off of the bath. You are daily in our prayers. Mis, are you able to get the pure water for her baths like you said you must have? How will you be able to get it when you get back to your village? Maybe the answer to that is still in the Lord's hands. Check your blog everyday.
