Another first day of school

Hi everyone,

We are starting school with the boys today. Annie isn't too excited about sharing her teacher, but we will see how it goes! I will be writing our monthly newsletter today, so you can be looking for it. I don't have a lot to share, but just wanted to ask you to pray for me today. I really stress about school, please just pray I don't screw up my kids. I know I shouldn't stress, but I can't seem to tell my head and heart to both believe it will be okay! Hope all of you have a GREAT DAY and that you receive many blessings!

Love you~

  1. Missy,

My name is Lisa Bradford. I am a friend of Pam & John Weaver's. I attend at Faith Baptist Church in Festus, MO.

I came to "meet" you because of Annie's accident. I have been blessed to see how God has brought you all through that horrible experience. But, indeed, we can be thankful in all circumstances! I've blessed those around me with your story too.

I'm writing to encourage you that you will not screw up your kids. When God called me to homeschool He kept reassuring me that He equips those he calls. You know your kids better than anyone and their learning experience with you will be a great time for them and for you...most of the time :~). Also, keep in mind that just because you homeschool doesn't mean YOU do it all. I had a good friend of mine do Chemistry with my oldest daughter because it was a subject he loved and I wasn't really excited about.

Also, it is not about having school at home, necessarily. You can adapt to your children's learning styles and work your day around your schedule. There were times the kids were just restless, so we'd take breaks and they'd run aroung the house 5-10 times. And, sometimes we'd take a fieldtrip instead of book work.

Anyway, I'm babbling, I just wanted to remind you, God will bless your efforts and take them farther than you ever could.

Thank you for being a blessing to me and all those that I tell about you and your precious family.

    God Bless!

  2. Thank you so much for your encouragement! I know deep in my heart that I am doing my best and all will be okay. However, there are days when I think, "Man,how will I teach them everything they need to know?" But you are right, I know He will equip me to do this job! He continually amazes me at how He equips me for this job with the indigenous! Thanks for commenting!
