Shoe boxes

Well Christmas is fast approaching. A few years back we decided to have a Christmas party for our friends here. It was an awesome event and we had all of our friends come. Since we weren't able to receive some of the shoe boxes through the American organization that provides them, we decided to make our own and give them out to all of the children here. We had a few friends who decided to donate money so that we could make that happen.

This year I thought I would try again to see about having some of the shoe boxes delivered to our area. However, this proved to be a bit more difficult than I had hoped and I don't think it will be possible again this year. (I need to start the process a lot earlier than I did.) We do plan on making the shoe boxes again and having another Christmas party for our group. It is so much fun and it is so neat to see the faces of these kids when they open their boxes. The only part that I think is missing is the personal touch. What I mean is; in the real shoe boxes there are sometimes pictures of an American family and a note with a personal message to the child. We would be happy to have them send you a message back and take pictures of them opening the box with your message in it. We are just looking for some people to "adopt-a-box" so to say. So, let me know if you are interested. Thanks!

  1. Missy, I teach the Kindergarten class on Wednesday nights at our church. If you need folks to write letters/draw pictures, I'm sure the children in my class would love to help! Let me know! :)
