Picture Pages...

Hi friends! I promised more pictures and here they are. I have given a short description of the pic if needed. We are super busy with summer stuff but enjoying every day! Hope you are as well!
I have mentioned Estella many times in the past. Estella is my very poor house helper. She is precious to the bone. When Rachael came she brought us some clothes that she and her mom bought for her and it was a HUGE blessing to her!
This is Estella's home.

Our boss got new mattresses and gave her his old ones. This was a huge blessing. She now has a bed and they put the one against the wall  on the floor at night for Chata.

This is in front of Estella's home.

So Rachael never quite grasped the fact that laundry in definitely my number one job. Especially when we have unexpected guest that use 2-3 sets of sheets and 2-3 extra towels. It is really a never ending job. ;o)

This is Estella's daughter, Chata. She and Rachael became very close friends. Of course Rachael fell in love with her little brother too!

Ole!

Okay, you can't really read this sign but, it was really funny. It gave all the ways how NOT to die from diarrhea. We thought it was quite interesting that actually mentioned death by diarrhea. Rachael was a little shocked and asked, oh about 100 questions after that about how that could happen! ;o)

Dishwasher.

Mexican popcorn. That is popcorn with salsa on it.

Rachael wanted us to purchase the pig head for dinner but I told her we don't waste food and knew she wouldn't eat the eyes! (they were still there)

Of course she begged to get some of these. I tell you, she just wanted everything she saw, it was hard on us! ;o)

Finally Annie felt bad for her and made her some tacos out of some bean that had fallen off a tree.

This is our "seminary" that we hold in our old village. We are teaching the leaders some more in depth Bible studies and then helping them to take what they are learning and tell Bible stories to the larger group.

Part of the time in our old village is just spent being with our old friends. They have been with us since the start. This friend is the one who pulled Annie out of the boiling salsa when she was burnt. They have a connection you might say.

We moved our group in our old village to this place more than a year ago. We did that because it had grown so big. Sadly, our group is no longer big. It is much smaller. Many have stopped coming and because of that we had to move out. Unfortunately, this was our last day in this place. It was bittersweet for us. It was great when our group was large and growing, but we now know who the truly faithful followers are and we can focus our energy on them. Please pray for this group.

Many things have changed in our old village. When we first moved there we couldn't tell anyone we were Christians. This woman came up to me in the street and asked me when we could tell her about Jesus because she wanted to hear the Word of God. My heart broke that I couldn't spend hours with her.  Please pray she will go to the study they have there and she will hear the Word of God.

So after our day of ministry, some things just can't wait and Jerod's hair was one of those things. Rachael really loved this!

4th of July is really just another day here, but we did try and make it special, we made all of Rachael's favorite foods, pictured above! ;o) I am teasing, she didn't like any of it.

She did like Aunt Sharon's cake though!

This was our 4th celebration, no fireworks, but lots of games!

Rachael tried a deviled egg and did NOT like it!

She tried watermelon and was happy that she did like it!

This was another one of our family game days.

Yummy. These were offered to us to eat. We didn't do that, but they eat them and say they taste like chicken. No thanks!

So this was when we told Rachael that we were eating donkey meat. She was a trooper and continued eating it even after she knew it was donkey. However she was SUPER relieved to find out it was actually just steak! :o)
This was her face when we told her that she was eating donkey. She had a much happier face when she found out we were kidding. We made her believe us for at least 15 minutes. It was the 'm' test! She passed!

Saying good-bye at the airport.

I think Annie is going to miss her more than anyone else!

This is our new English club. We are learning English and telling Bible stories at the same time. Today we told the story of Noah and the ark and they had never heard it before so they were in awe that it really happened. Please pray for Queen/Reina and Anna/Ana as we learn God's Word together.

Please continue to pray for our 9 different VBS' that we will have over the next 2 months. We will be telling Bible stories and sharing God's love to each one of these kids pictured here and 100's more.

Well that is about 100 pictures, hope you enjoyed them. Love to you all! Missy

  1. I just have to comment on the song lyrics. I understand the intent of the song but it seems to me that the idea of our being "worth dying for" cheapens the price He paid to redeem us. The true wonder of His grace is that He loved me and wanted me to be with Him for eternity so much that He went to the cross to pay for my sin even when I was NOT worth dying for. "For one will scarcely die for a righteous person--though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die--but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:7-8

  2. Hi Vicki! I have read some articles on this very topic. I totally agree, we are NOT worth dying for and thankfully He did it anyway! I made this slideshow before I heard all the buzz about their lyrics and really thought them through. I have said this about 100 times before, I am not a deep thinker or I may have thought about the meaning of the lyrics long ago. ;o) Anyway, I appreciate your comments and your support to our ministry. I do hope that the song didn't distract from the precious faces. Thanks for sharing! Missy

  3. I love how much you enjoyed having Rachael learn about and help with your ministry. It's obvious the entire family is going to miss her but I can tell that you enjoyed spending time with an 'adult' woman. What a great experience for Rachael, too. God will use her time with you to help her plan her future for HIM.

  4. Oh Lynda, You are sooo right. I did enjoy having another "woman" in the house. I miss her. I think God has HUGE plans for her, please pray He will reveal those to her in His timing. She will be returning for a week in August and I am already looking forward to that! Thanks for praying! Love, Missy
