No Dr. visit for a week!

Yea! Today after the nurses did their cleanings of her wounds, the Dr. came in and told us that he felt coming to the hospital was becoming too difficult for Annie mentally. He told us everything was healing well and if we continued to do the cleanings at home, we could take a break from the hospital for the next week. There is still one area below her waist that is concerning. The Dr. does not think she will need surgery, however he said it may take 3-4 weeks for that to heal. He will assess that next week when we return for her visit. That was a huge answer to prayer! Annie is definitely having some psychological difficulties due to the stress of her hospital visits. She has started to cry every time she has to go potty and she is favoring her left hand to avoid pain in her right hand. My ( Missy) parents arrive today and we are hoping to have a lot of grandparent time. Annie is really looking forward to this, so we hope to get her mind off of her burns and onto other things. Please continue to pray for us, we don't know how anyone can go through something like this without friends like all of you and a lot of prayer support! God has been so good to us with one blessing after another. One day I would love to share all of these blessings with each of you! Our Internet connection will not be very good for the next week, but I promise to try and post a blog once a day. Thanks for lifting us up to the Great Physician! Love you all!!

  1. Hey Miss,
We look foward to reading your blog each day. It's amazing to see how the hand of the Lord has worked to heal Annie since you first started posting. It's such good news that you don't have to go back to the hospital for a week. We will continue to pray for you all and pray that Annie's anxiousness will subside during the next week. Enjoy your visit with your parents!

  3. Thanks for posting so we have specific things to pray for! We will pray that Annie will have a great week off from the hospital and that the doctors will be amazed at the healing that has taken place when they check her again! I can not imagine what this has been like for any of you, but I know the ONE that is right there with you giving you the strength you need at the exact moment you need it! We are thanking HIM for what HE has already done and will continue to do on sweet Annie's behalf!!
    Lifting you to the Father!
    Love ya!

  4. I wanted to wait and not send a message while so much was going on and so many were writing. I did send an e-mail but expected it to be later when you are able to look at anything there.
I am praying and am very glad that your (Missy's) parents are able to come. I am very, very thankful that people here are not only praying but have jumped into action. So many, many things that we can't understand but it is so clear that God was ready because he had Jay and the Franz's ready to come to you. It was already in His schedule. Even knowing that, I ache that you are going through this and that Annie is hurting--that the healing process is like it is. I tend to want to fix it but I have nothing to do that with. I know more than anything you both want to do that for Annie now too. Isn't it amazing that she seems to know that?
It's hard to write because my words are not going to do much--no words of sage wisdom and I won't say there's light at the end of the tunnel. I know that our Lord will hold on to you when you get to tired to hold on to Him and as He has done for me--He will do for you. He will come up under you just when you think you are going down in that swirling jumble and lift you up, showing you He love you, the boys, and Annie more than anything.
    We love you, too.

  7. We feel as if we are on this journey with you! Your blog is a daily reminder that God is with us and that He hears and answers our prayers. Annie has come so far in such a short amount of time. We continue to pray for total healing physically and emotionally. It is such a joy to share this experience with Ashlyn and watch her pray and see God work. This experience is being used to God's glory.

  11. Missy and Greg,
I just got back home, we had a trip for checkup in St Louis, The GREAT PHYSICIAN is fast at work. I am praising Him for great checkup and for the healing in Annie's life. I am trusting His faithfulness to see her through this. I will continue to pray, praying for precious grandparenting and continue to give praises for Mike and Keri and your church in SC. I'm so glad we don't have to go through tough times alone.

  16. DEAR MISSY AND GREG,
I just received a note from Sarah about Annie's accident. I am truely sorry and wish that I could be there to show you how much I care. Please give Annie a Big kiss from me. Her photos and all of the the wonderful love and support from people all over the world is very touching. Even through her pain she has a beautiful smile on her lovely face. She is such an inspiration to people like me who have their own cross to bear. May she continue to improve, and may God Bless her, you, Jerod and Alex and the good people in the hospital who are caring for her. You are in my prayers. Love, Robin

  20. Hi Guys,
What a great week you will have with a break from the hospital! We will pray for a wonderful time with your parents. Grandparents are always a blessing. We have some here right now and looking forward to the next set arriving in two weeks. They bring lots of smiles to the grandkids. I know Annie, Jerod and Alex will enjoy their time tremendously with them. We continue to pray for Annie - for complete, quick healing, especially in the areas of concern; for the boys, that they will not be bored and will be specially blessed during this time; and for you guys, for strength unimaginable from the Father above! We love you guys!
