Sunday - A Day Off

Yesterday evening we treated her wounds and had another tough time but those treatments are getting easier and faster with experience. She got her hair washed and a bird bath afterwards and felt great and slept pretty good overall. She is starting to move around and changing positions at night while sleeping which is good. She continues to have some nightmares so please pray that the nightmares will stop and for little Annie and her sleep at night.

Today is Sunday and we have a day off today from Doctor and therapy visits. The physical therapist wants Annie to use her legs and fingers and not just be sitting around the house all day. Thus, we are excited to be making a visit to a church today just outside of Galveston. Missy and I really need this and are excited about worship today in English. Our friend Keri, who is with us, offered to take Annie into the preschool room at the church and be her personal teacher so we could enjoy the service. Annie is showing more signs of trying to walk on her own but still is cautious and nervous so we are hoping that being in a classroom setting with other kids will help her in her movement and walking.

The doctor told us yesterday that you just have to be patient with burn injuries and wait. Thus, we are doing that and at the same time trying to work with Annie's walking and finger movement in her right hand. Please pray for Annie to get through her nervousness of walking and using her right hand. Pray for us for patience with each other as we are in the waiting process. Our friends will be leaving soon and Missy's parents will be arriving on Tuesday to help out which is a huge blessing. Jerod and Alex are doing well and we are doing our best to keep them from getting bored. Galveston is located on the Gulf so we had them out in the ocean for a little while yesterday.

Thus, off to worship and we will touch base later.

  8. Hi! Missy, I am an old friend of Angie Dye and have been receiving emails from her mom, Mrs. Tucker. I was very touched and prayed for Annie as soon as I read the email. I amazed by how God is miraculously taking care of Annie! We always wonder how we would make it through such difficult situations, but God always provides the grace and puts the right people in our path. I hope things will continue to go well through Annie's recovery and healing. My husband is a pastor at an SBC church in Rock Hill, SC and we support you and appreciate all the work you are doing!
    God bless your family!

  9. Hey guys,
I have enjoyed reading the page and looking at the pics. =) Annie is such a pretty girl. I am glad to see that she is doing well. It will take time, as you have said. I have been praying for you all. I am glad to hear that the bath on Sat. wasn't too bad. Maybe I will see you guys around next week. I will be on the 2nd floor Mon, Tues, and Fri, but not in the Tubroom.
    Praying for you guys,

  10. Dear Jesus,

Please help Annie have good dreams and sleep well tonight. Take her fears away and pat her pretty head as she falls asleep.

Help her walk and move tomorrow without being afraid. Help her to have something to laugh at tomorrow.

Help her Mommy and Daddy to think only about today and to trust you with tomorrow.

Help her brothers to have fun tomorrow! Help them to have good stories to share with Annie that will make her smile and give her good things to think about as she sleeps.

    In Jesus Name, Amen!

  11. Praise God for He loves to answer the prayers of His people. I pray for Annie's sweet spirit to continue and that she will be a witness to others in the hospital. May God grant you all peace and great confidence in His faithfulness. And may Annie's wounds heal completely, beautifully, and the pain be gone.

  13. Hey guys it's Isaac,
Jeff told me about Annie just before I spent a week hiking the Appalechian Trail so I had a lot of time to pray for Annie during our hikes. Remembering how vivacious and animated she was when we visited makes the whole thing seem so much more bitter. But judging by the 4,863 visitors to this good things are probablly happening as a result. Hopefuly you are able to sleep well in Gavelston without the droning megaphone voice to put you to sleep at night. Stil praying for you guys.
    -Isaac
