God is taking care of our Annie!

If you prayed at all today for Annie, please know God answered your prayers! We went for the bath and I (Missy) felt like I was going into a torture chamber. However, once we were in there we realized it wasn't so bad and God was there with us. Annie was calm and although it was painful, she just let out small whimpers. The nurses that were changing her bandages said she had a very high pain tolerance level. Takes after her mom! ;o) As we were getting to know the 2 nurses we found out that one of them named Julie, has a youth pastor husband at a Church here in Texas. God knew how much that would mean to us! They both took great care of her and she did well. As they were washing her hair she looked up at them and said, "Thank you!" Melted all of our hearts! After that she enjoyed eating her Chick-fil-a nuggets. The physical therapy went well too. She walked with assistance around a few hallways. The prognosis is that by next week she should be walking on her own. She also sat in a chair and played with various toys. All in all we consider the day to have gone nothing more than PERFECT!! We continue to ask for prayer for her as she is trying to avoid using the potty. We have now read EVERY email and blog post and can't tell you how you have all touched our lives through the outpouring of love and prayers. I said a prayer for each of you today. We have a few more pictures added in the rotation and there will be more to come. Love to you all!

We are friends of the Haguewoods and got word in a round-about way from Jamie about Annie. I have shared your story with several family and friends in Missouri, Arkansas, and elsewhere who I'm sure are praying for you.

  8. I am a friend of Jennifer and Donnie Barger. We live in Alabama and my husband was her mom's pastor for about 12 years. My heart was broken to hear of Annie's accident and I have been praying for all of you. Annie's picture makes me think of Caroline when she was that age. Annie is a beautiful little girl and God answered my prayer today as I prayed for peace and calm for Annie and for her pain to be minimal. I can just see that sweet little face saying thank you for washing her hair. My heart melts just reading it!! Please know I will continue to pray and can't wait to get the updates every morning/night.
    God bless you all!!

We are glad Annie is doing so well! You all are being lifted up here in Russia! You are being remembered - prayed for - thought of. Not sure if you remember us - but we were commissioned together. Much love sent from our family to yours as you are all recovering from this and as Annie gets stronger each day. Thank you for doing this blog and keeping us all posted of how we can pray and how Annie is doing.

  20. We were so pleased to hear how God continues to answer prayers. Last week, God gave us three little girls, including Annie to pray for, one with terminal cancer, one with an inoperable brain tumor, and our precious Annie. These three little ones have touched my heart. But also, they have reaffirmed God's love and provision for all of us. I hope you have a way of printing and saving these notes for Annie. When she gets older, hopefully she will be able to see how God used her and her family to encourage so many others. Our prayer life has been enhance because of Annie and these two other little girls. Our prayers and love continue!

What a relief to hear that yesterday went well. Yes you were covered all day long. We continue to lift you up. Specifically we are praying for Greg and Missy as you watch your little girl go through this and the boys as they learn how to be supportive big brothers. Enjoy that Chik-fil-a (those of us that have been away for a while know how great it tastes)!

  33. It is amazing what the internet can do these days. Consider how many people are reached and able to pray for your little Annie. You don't know us, and we don't know you, but you and your family are being prayed for. We have a little granddaughter, so my heart aches with what you must be going through. What an inspiration you are to remain faithful to our Heavenly Father through all of this. When little Annie said thankyou after having her hair washed brought tears to my eyes. To remain thankful after having her body scrubbed in such a painful way... I know what the "baths" are all about. Horrible. I'm certain you are in as much pain as your precious daughter. I will continue to pray that the baths will be less painful, and her walking and physical therapy will progress just as you hope it will. Thank you for the pictures.Hang in there.
