Tough Morning ;o(
Well, all I can say is that without a lot of prayers, this would be impossible! This morning we went back to the hospital for her bath and physical therapy and it went a little different today than yesterday. They removed her bandages and started scrubbing the wounds. Tears and screams began. This was the first time we (Greg and I) experienced an overwhelming urge to sob. Greg and I both had to have the nurse stop so we could compose ourselves. It was TOUGH!! After about 2 hours of that and Annie saying, " You're a meanie!" to the nurses, we were done! The Dr. checked her and said he was concerned about the area below her waist that suffered a deeper burn and is healing slower. He is going to watch it and we are praying for no surgery. Please pray that with us. We left and went to therapy and her therapist said if she could walk to the other door, she could go home. Annie walked as fast as she could ( about the same rate as a one year old) holding our hands. We left and all she could say was, " I want to go to the house with the comfy couch!" We have been so blessed by so many things and someone here in Texas has offered to let us use their beach home for the next week. It has a very comfy couch and Annie is going to get very spoiled I think! We ask you to keep us in your prayers over the next few days as Greg and I will be doing these baths and we will be the "meanies." Many of you have asked how Jerod and Alex are doing and they are doing great! They have been a huge help to us have tried to make Annie laugh. Mike and Keri have been a godsend. I don't know what we would do without them here! Thank you so much for loving us through your thoughts and prayers! We are off to the comfy couch!

I just said a prayer for all of you! During these really tough times I pray you will feel extra portions of God's Grace in your lives! I grew up about an hour east of Galveston and it's where we always went for our beach trips. I'm so glad you're being well taken care of there! God bless and keep you in ways only HE can!

We love you guys and we are continually in prayer for you all. You have so much on you and we will pray that Annie, even though she's only 4, will see through the "meanies" to exactly why you are doing what you are! We love you. And one day, in the future, I will share all the Lord has done through you just in the lives we're in contact with here in Virginia!

Greg & Missy, we are praying for all of you at Flat Crk Baptist. Annie is spunky! God will heal her and make her stronger with this experence. We just loss our 10 yr old grandson in a fatal car accident in April, so we know the helplessness you are feeling now as Annie is being treated. Our GAs made Get Well cards for Annie last night, where can we send them to her? Your family is so special, your work in the mission field is greatly appreciated. We love you all. I shared our mission pics from Mexico with the girls & they all fell in love with Annie. God bless..Love to Annie's Teacher - Ms. Kathy
ReplyDeleteHey Guys
ReplyDeleteI had a hard time swallowing after reading this morning's update. You know how you get that huge lump in your throat when you are trying to hold back the tears.....I was reading the update to Brian and I could hardly say the words.
My heart went out to Annie with the pain she had to endure.I would not have been as brave as you and Greg. But I see God's grace is covering you two with what you need to endure this trauma. It is awesome to witness the outpouring of love and support for you all. God is good and HIS love will endure forever. We are praying everyday and even every moment that Annie comes to our mind, which is often. I know God is hearing them and I praise Him for taking care of you all.
Because He loves us,
Kim & Brian Johnson
Greg and Missy, we are praying for Annie and the entire family. God will be gloried through this trial. As painful as this time is, it is part of His plan for her and the entire family. James 2:3 and 4 "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." Columbus, GA is a day away. If you need anything, please don't hesitate. Home: 706 569 6811; cell for me 706 358 8645. You are loved.
ReplyDeleteDearest Family, Well this is my third try!!! I thought I knew how to blog, but I guess I didn't!!!! I wrote you last night and told you how thankful I was that yesterday went well with her bath, and how precious that she said thank you to the nurses. It made me want to cry. Sorry to hear that today did not go as well. I know it must be so hard on all of you, most of all precious Annie. So many friends here all over Florida are praying for her. Last night we had over 400 people at bible study and we have groups at tables, so each table prayed at one time--WE KNOW THERE IS POWER IN PRAYER!!!! We will pray that you will be able to get some rest tonight. Thank you Lord for the beach house, and the nice couch, and your friends for Asheville. I will write again tomorrow, and hope this one makes it. We love you all so much.

Dear Greg, Missy, Jerod, Alex and Annie-- Just a note to let you know that you are in our prayers constantly. We stay in touch with your Mom and Dad and the website but still want to let you know that we care. This little redhead was the ticket in the beginning to reaching the village people and just imagine what a testimony she will be now to the village with all that God has done for her! If there is anything we can do in any way please let us know thru your parents. We love you. In Christ, Ed and Paula Williams

Dear Family,
ReplyDeleteAnnie is such a treasure. May her recovery be as swift, complete, and painless as possible.
Love and miss you all. God bless.
Debbie (Greg's cousin)
Dear Greg,Missy,Jerod,Alex, and Annie,
ReplyDeleteYou have been in our prayers since we first learned about Annie. Our son, Howard, in Argentina, sent us word right away, and we have been keeping up through your blog. It is such a wonderful way to keep in touch, and helps us to better know how to pray. When you were in Costa Rica, Howard lived next door to you, and we were there to visit. Infact, we were there the night you packed up and left for Mexico. God is an awesome God, and is doing some great things, and we pray that you will continue to see HIM doing even greater things on your behalf. We have shared your blog with many folks here, in North Carolina, and they too are praying. May you experience His Joy and Peace in the midst of this difficult time.
In HIS LOVE,
Jean and Roger Hicks
Pinehurst, North Carolina
